Article
CAMBODIA. Khmer Times (26 May 2026) - Cambodia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation on skills development to meet changing labour market demands.
Labour and Vocational Training Minister Heng Sour hosted a ministerial meeting yesterday with an ADB delegation led by Deputy Director General Lisa Wright. The session drew a broad cabinet presence, including the ministers of women’s affairs, health, tourism, industry and public works.
Sour thanked ADB for its long-term partnership, highlighting the bank’s role in supporting Cambodia’s economic diversification, digital transformation and private-sector growth.
The minister emphasised Cambodia’s readiness to advance Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) reforms.
Primary focus areas include building industry partnerships, tracking labour market data and introducing green and digital skills pathways.
These initiatives directly support Cambodia’s upcoming Industrial Development Policy 2026–2035. The strategy aims to secure sustainable, inclusive growth by modernising workforce capabilities over the next decade.
