Description

This report analyses the institutional and structural framework that govern labour migration in Asia. It takes into account the vital role of governments and other stakeholders in both labour-destination countries (e.g. Japan, the Republic of Korea and Singapore) and labour-sending countries (e.g. India, the Philippines and Sri Lanka). The key issues identified revolve around the orderliness of the process for the movement of people, and the question of whether the workers’ rights and welfare are protected or not.
