Description

The book provides a detailed insight into ways in which learning is recognized in global contemporary education and training systems and how it is likely to be approached in the future. This study is a direct follow-up to the Third International Congress on TVET, held in Shanghai in 2012. This research, through the use of level descriptors, describes international qualification frameworks that facilitate the recognition of learning outcomes within a broader lifelong learning perspective. It also discusses the way the level of learning is determined through the lens of longitudinal studies, international competence assessments and diagnostic reviews. The use of learning outcomes forms the common thread that is explored in all the case studies included in the report.
