Description

This paper outlines an analytical framework for assessing TVET teacher training systems. It responds to the need for high-quality TVET teacher training systems that utilize an open ‘methods box’ approach and are dynamic, relevant, effective, efficient, innovative and flexible. Such programs are aligned to specific contexts and objectives, improve productivity, employment and social inclusion and foster the spirit of lifelong learning.  The paper discusses the four pillars and 12 key elements of these teacher training systems with the help of suitable case studies.
