VOVWORLD, Vietnam (29 December, 2020) - The vocational education and training sector wants to recruit 2.5 million people in 2021 and improve its quality to boost labor productivity and economic competitiveness in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution and international integration, said Nguyen Thi Viet Huong, Deputy Director General of Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.

At a working session in Hanoi on Monday, Huong said more than 2.2 million students enrolled in the vocational education and training sector in 2020 despite the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the sector has recruited more than 11 million people in the last four years, exceeding its target.

Since 2016, the vocational education and training sector has developed its programs to meet the demands of Industry 4.0, the labor market, and international integration, Huong said, adding that its success reflects the effort of the whole education sector and has been hailed by the government and international organizations.
