JAKARTA, INDONESIA. ANTARA (27 July 2026) - The Manpower Ministry, Indonesia is pursuing labor-sector transformation through vocational training and green-office initiatives to build a productive, modern and sustainable workforce and bureaucracy.
Manpower Minister Yassierli said Monday that vocational training programs were being expanded to meet business and industry needs.
One initiative, the National Internship Program, or MagangHub, aims to enroll 150,000 participants in 2026.
“The program brings job seekers closer to industry, helping reduce skills mismatches. Participants gain work experience, skills certificates and allowances,” Yassierli said.
He said MagangHub had drawn interest from international partners as a human-resource development model linking education with employment.
The ministry also aims to enroll 270,000 participants in its National Vocational Training Program in 2026.
The program will be implemented transparently and inclusively, providing equal opportunities for people with disabilities and communities in frontier, outermost and least developed regions.
Alongside vocational training, the ministry is promoting bureaucratic transformation through green-office initiatives and independent environmental management.
The initiative includes improving energy efficiency, reducing single-use plastics and gradually adopting renewable energy through office solar-panel installations.
Green-office standards are also supported by sustainability reports as part of accountable organizational governance, Yassierli said.
“Labor transformation must go hand in hand with bureaucratic transformation. We want a productive, adaptive, environmentally friendly and sustainable work ecosystem,” he said.
The ministry projects the green economy will create about 3.88 million jobs across Indonesia in 2026, according to its Employment Outlook 2026.
Anwar Sanusi, head of the ministry’s planning and development agency, said the projection was supported by downstreaming efforts and new and renewable energy development.
