BRUNEI. Borneo Bulletin (10 July 2026) Brunei Darussalam has reached another significant milestone in artificial intelligence (AI) innovation as ChemBuddy Supreme+, developed by Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School Chemistry teacher Haji Zadil Hayat bin Haji Kassim, was named one of the winners of the Innovate for Impact Awards in the Generative AI for Creativity category at the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The prestigious international recognition highlights Brunei’s growing presence in AI-driven educational innovation and showcases the country’s commitment to harnessing emerging technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

ChemBuddy Supreme+ is an innovative AI-powered educational platform designed to provide personalised and inclusive learning experiences for chemistry education.

Through intelligent assistance, interactive learning capabilities, and tailored guidance, it helps students better understand chemistry concepts while enabling educators to deliver more engaging and effective lessons.

Selected from a highly competitive pool of nearly 400 global entries, ChemBuddy Supreme+ was among 59 projects recognised as winners for demonstrating the transformative potential of AI in creating meaningful social impact.

The Innovate for Impact Awards distinguishes innovative AI solutions that demonstrate creativity, impact, and potential to address global challenges while contributing towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Generative AI for Creativity category highlights AI-driven solutions that leverage generative AI to enhance creativity, learning, and human potential.

The international recognition at the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 builds on the success of ChemBuddy Supreme+ at the Brunei ICT Awards (BICTA) 2025, where it won the Inclusion and Community Services category.

The recognition acknowledged the contribution of the solution towards promoting inclusive access to education and leveraging technology to create positive community impact.

AITI is proud to support Haji Zadil Hayat to participate in the AI for Good Global Summit 2026, enabling him to showcase ChemBuddy Supreme+ on an international platform alongside leading AI experts, innovators, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and technology communities from around the world.

The international success of ChemBuddy Supreme+ reflects Brunei’s growing capability in AI innovation and its potential to address real-world challenges, particularly in education and inclusion.

It also serves as inspiration, highlighting the importance of empowering educators and local talent to harness emerging technologies responsibly for the benefit of society.
