IBTE TVET Academy Host Action Research Showcase 2026

The TVET Academy of the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) organised an Action Research Showcase on 26 May 2026 at Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Brunei.
The event gathered trainees, educators, school leaders, and key stakeholders to celebrate innovation and excellence in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Serving as a platform for Diploma in Technical Education (DTE) and Certificate in Technical Education (CTE) trainees, the showcase featured action research projects that demonstrated innovative teaching strategies addressing current industry needs and sustainability challenges.
In line with IBTE’s Strategic Plan 2025–2030 and Wawasan Brunei 2035 as well as MOE's Greening Education Plan 2025-2035, the event underscored the importance of evidence-based teaching, green skills integration, and industry-relevant competencies. The 2026 theme, “Action Research in TVET: Industry-Relevant & Green Skills,” highlights IBTE’s commitment to preparing future-ready educators and professionals. The programme included poster presentations, project showcases, awards for outstanding research, and opportunities for professional networking.
It also featured keynote sessions by Yang Mulia Dr. Paryono of SEAMEO VOCTECH on green skills and innovation in TVET, and Yang Mulia Dr. Vincent Andrew of BDLTA on advancing action research into publications.Present as the Guest of Honour for the event was Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Mohd Zamri bin Haji Sabli, Director of Technical Education and CEO of IBTE. Overall, the showcase aims to foster collaboration, encourage practitioner-led innovation, and support continuous improvement in TVET teaching practices across IBTE.
