Article
China (25 July 2025) - During the 2025 China-ASEAN Vocational Education Federation Annual Meeting, held on July 26 as part of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, the LAMG-China Education Training Promotion Alliance (LCETPA) reaffirmed its commitment to fostering strong ties in vocational education between China and ASEAN countries.

The event, hosted under the guidance of the Ministry of Education of China, brought together influential leaders, educators, and industry professionals from both China and ASEAN, including SEAMEO VOCTECH, as represented by it's Deputy Director of Administration, Pg Sufri Pg Ali.
This year’s theme, "Building a China-ASEAN Vocational Education Community and Building a Model of Vocational Education Cooperation in Asia," resonated deeply with the objectives of LCETPA, whose mission is to enhance vocational education and training (VET) across Southeast Asia through collaborative efforts with institutions in China.
LCETPA, alongside Pg. Sufri and other key stakeholders, played a pivotal role in discussions aimed at deepening industry-education integration, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, automobiles, and medical services—areas where both China and ASEAN countries have significant potential for growth.
The event featured high-level speeches, including one from a vice minister who underscored the importance of technological innovation and global competition in driving vocational education reforms. The remarks from a deputy director also emphasised the crucial role of bilateral and multilateral cooperation platforms like the China-ASEAN Vocational Education Federation in fostering educational exchanges and creating high-quality standards for vocational training.
In addition to the keynote reports, the meeting saw the announcement of several major collaborative achievements, including the establishment of the China-ASEAN Agricultural Vocational Education Industry-Education Integration Community and the co-construction of the Lao National Vocational Education Level 5 Vocational Standard Project. LCETPA’s active participation in these initiatives is a testament to its dedication to supporting Laos’ educational framework and ensuring its alignment with regional vocational standards.
Through LCETPA'S continued collaboration with SEAMEO VOCTECH, it remains at the forefront of driving vocational education initiatives that not only improve the quality of training but also provide meaningful opportunities for industry partnerships. As part of the growing China-ASEAN vocational education community, LCETPA is committed to supporting the development of vocational education systems that are inclusive, high-quality, and responsive to the evolving demands of the global labor market.
The annual meeting’s fruitful discussions set the stage for future work under the framework of the China-ASEAN Vocational Education Federation. LCETPA’s involvement in these efforts reflects our ongoing dedication to creating valuable, sustainable educational partnerships that will serve as a foundation for the next generation of skilled professionals across ASEAN.
