SEAOHUN 2024 REGIONAL STUDENT VIDEO COMPETITION

INSPIRING ACTION FOR WILDLIFE CONSERVATION, ZOONOTIC DISEASE PREVENTION, AND ONE HEALTH

Globally, ecosystems face significant threats from human activities, such as deforestation, habitat destruction, and pollution. These activities not only contribute to the loss of biodiversity but also facilitate the transmission of zoonotic diseases by disrupting natural habitats and increasing human-wildlife interactions. The urgency of addressing wildlife conservation and preventing zoonotic diseases is paramount. Coordinated efforts are essential to protect our planet's rich biodiversity, mitigate the spread of zoonotic diseases, and promote the principles of One Health. The importance of wildlife conservation, biodiversity preservation, and zoonotic disease prevention cannot be overstated.

In this context, SEAOHUN recognises the crucial role that undergraduate students can play in driving positive change. The Regional Student Competition seeks to harness the creativity, passion, and ingenuity of undergraduate students across Southeast Asia and beyond. By empowering students to develop innovative solutions for wildlife conservation and zoonotic disease prevention, SEAOHUN aims to foster a culture of One Health and proactive environmental action. This competition provides a platform for students to contribute meaningfully to public awareness and the implementation of effective strategies to address these critical issues.
