INDONESIA.  The Antara News (20 May 2024) - Bogor Agricultural Institute (IPB) Vocational School is collaborating with Japan's Chio Joho Institute of Information Technology to increase the capacity of students who are prepared to enter the labor market in Sakura Country.

This commitment was stated in the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MoA) carried out by the Dean of the IPB Vocational School Aceng Hidayat and the President of the Chuo Juho Institute of Information Technology, Okamoto Hiroshi, in Tokyo, Monday.

Aceng said the collaboration was beneficial for IPB Vocational School students to gain experience studying abroad so that graduates could improve their competencies before entering the world of work.

The MoA contains a 3+2 cooperation scheme, where students study for three years at the IPB Vocational School and two years at the Chuo Joho Institute of Information Technology.

Okamoto Hiroshi said that in this collaboration program, his party is trying to help students become skilled workers who are ready to enter the world of work in Japan.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Heri Akhmadi welcomed the signing of the MOA.

"This collaboration aims to equip IPB students, especially from vocational schools, with the qualifications needed to get jobs in Japan," he said.

According to him, currently Japan is increasingly opening up opportunities for foreign workers to work in various industries.

"It is hoped that positions "These can be filled by workers from Indonesia," said Heri.

He also hopes that the program can be expanded to other universities in Indonesia and other institutes in Japan.
