Integrated Laboratory launched to improve skills and creativity
JAKARTA. Antara News (09 January 2023) - The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology supports vocational colleges to enable students to learn skills and become more creative in the field of engineering.
"We strongly support colleges, especially vocational higher education institutions, to be able to help students work in the field of engineering," Director General of Vocational Education Kiki Yuliati stated here on Monday.
Yuliati made the statement when she launched the Integrated Laboratory - Center of Technology Excellence at the State Polytechnic of Jakarta (PNJ).
The laboratory comes with a new futuristic building that will serve as a center for students in all majors, especially engineering students, to implement their practices.
According to Yuliati, the presence of the integrated laboratory will not only improve the quality of educational services for students but also increase the college's income, considering that PNJ is one of the state universities that are part of the Public Service Agency (BLU) in Indonesia.
"This new building can increase campus income apart from UKT (single tuition fees) to improve educational services and make lecturers and educational staff happy," she explained.
Construction of the integrated laboratory building was funded by the State Sharia Securities (SBSN) grant program in 2022.
The new Integrated Laboratory - Center of Technology Excellence is proof of the government's presence in preparing the best education for college students, who will fill important or leadership roles when Indonesia enters its golden age in 2045, Yuliati stated.
Yuliati expects that the new building can result in qualified human resources, future leaders of the nation, polytechnic directors, and chairs of large companies in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Director of the State Polytechnic of Jakarta, Zainal Nur Arifin, stated that the Integrated Laboratory - Center of Technology Excellence (PUT) will be used as a training center, especially related to the field of engineering that can be utilized by industry and the community.
