Minister calls for contributions of private sector and other stakeholders to progress TVET

CAMBODIA. Khmer Times (25 August 2022) Minister of Labour Ith Samheng requested development partners and stakeholders to continue their assistance and further support for TVET technical and vocational education and training.

The Minister made the request during the 5th meeting of the Joint Technical Working Group for Technical and Vocational Education and Training on the morning of August 24 at the meeting hall of the Center for Research, Development and Innovation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

The Minister requested that development partners and stakeholders continue to support vocational labour, including the implementation of the national policy on technical and vocational education and training 2017-2025 TVET law development, digitize the TVET sector to meet the needs of both TVET institutions, the private sector, development partners and other stakeholders, and provide financial and technical support for the TVET Conference in the ASEAN region. 

The Minister continued that 6,500 special technical and vocational degree (C1) training courses were organized in 2021 and special technical and vocational degree (C1) training courses were also organized for 2022.

Nadia Ottiger, Deputy Director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Lead Co-Development Coordinator of TWG-TVET, praised the meeting for its impressive results and pledged continued support.
