The EU-ASEAN Business Council presents "COVID-19 and ASEAN's Digital Transformation" - a three part webinar series on ASEAN economies and digitalisation in a post-pandemic world.
Synopsis
COVID-19 has accelerated ASEAN’s to pivot towards the digital economy, forcing companies to rethink how they operate. Cutting across all sectors, the pandemic has allowed the rare opportunity for companies to reset. Businesses in ASEAN are now putting a relentless focus on customer centric, data enabled, digital technology to drive productivity and innovation. However, despite best efforts, the region’s infamous digital divide continues to act as roadblocks.

Henriette Faergemann is First Counsellor for Environment, Climate Action and Digital cooperation at the European Union Delegation to Indonesia, based in Jakarta.
From 2014-2020, she was working as First Counsellor & Head of Section in the European Union Delegation to India, responsible for cooperation between the EU and India in the areas of Environment, Mobility, Urbanisation & Smart Cities, Energy & Climate Change as well as the EUs Foreign Policy Instrument. Amongst others, Ms Faergemann has created the India-EU Partnerships on Water, Clean Energy & Climate, Smart & Sustainable Urbanisation and Circular Economy & Resource Efficiency.

Mr Leong Keng Thai is Director-General (International Affairs) of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
Mr Leong is concurrently holding the appointment of Executive Chairman of the Data Protection Advisory Committee ("DPAC"). The DPAC advises the Personal Data Protection Commission on matters relating to the personal data protection policies and regulations provided for in the Personal Data Protection Act.

Khor Chern Chuen is the Chief Operating Officer for SAP South East Asia (SEA) and a core member of the Senior Executive Team for SAP SEA. As a long-tenured leader at SAP since 2007, Khor has close to 20 years of experience in managing strategic customer accounts, innovation and profit & loss, while creating customer value in the technology industry. In the South East Asia market, he is primarily responsible for leadership development, driving strong pipeline and revenues and ensuring the alignment of team priorities with the growth objectives. He also lead the efforts of colleagues in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar and emerging markets to help businesses and governments in ASEAN run better and improve people's lives.

Johan de Villiers
Managing Director
ABB Singapore and Head of Industrial Automation South-East Asia
In 2015 Johan was appointed as Managing Director for ABB in Singapore, and currently also leads ABB’s Industrial Automation business in South-East Asia.
Following an education in electrical and electronic engineering, Johan gained practical experience in engineering, manufacturing and project management, followed by various business leadership roles which helped him further develop his technical and management related skills. These roles took him from South Africa to the Middle East and to Asia, working in areas such as robotics, industrial digitalisation, process automation, e-mobility, data centers and power grids.

Lance Little
Managing Director, Roche Diagnostics Asia Pacific
Lance Little became the Managing Director, Region Asia Pacific for Roche Diagnostics in 2012. Prior to that, he was the Managing Director of Roche Diagnostics India, where he was also the head of the wider Indian sub-region, which includes the neighbouring markets of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Prior to this, his experience as Managing Director extended to both Roche Diagnostics Thailand and Roche Diagnostics New Zealand.

Chris Humphrey is a Business Development and Government Relations professional with more than 30 years of experience across the public and private sectors, and over 15 years experience in Asia.
Chris has been with the EU-ASEAN Business Council since 2014, and has overseen a 320% increase in the organisation’s membership, and has led its advocacy efforts across the ASEAN region. Chris also chairs the ASEAN Business Advisory Council’s Trade Facilitation Working Group.
Chris began his varied professional career as a UK Civil Servant where, amongst other things, he was a Private Secretary to a Minister and an Air Services Trade Negotiator covering the Asia Pacific Region.
