About the Event
"Skills Change the World, Skills Light the Future"
WorldSkills2026 (29 April 2026) - The 48th WorldSkills Competition will take place in Shanghai from 22 to 27 September 2026. The Executive Bureau says preparations have now entered their final stage, aiming to deliver an event that is “innovative and influential.” The Executive Bureau extended a sincere invitation to overseas Chinese, welcoming them, especially young people abroad, to participate in and attend the WorldSkills Competition, engage with skills development, and serve as“skills ambassadors”connecting China with the world. They are encouraged to promote the WorldSkills spirit and skills culture, helping ensure the successful hosting of the event.
From late March to June this year, a variety of overseas promotional activities will be rolled out. Overseas Chinese associations will receive“overseas promotion kits”containing the Competition flag, mascot, and brochures, and will be invited to support the campaign by sharing their skill stories through greeting videos, offline salons, and other formats. Overseas Chinese groups will also be organized to visit the WorldSkills Museum in Shanghai and interact with WorldSkills participants. Additional WorldSkills-themed events will be held to discuss skills development.

Manufacturing and Engineering Technology
Industrial Mechanics, Mechatronics, CNC Turning, CNC Milling, Welding, Electronics, Industrial Control, Autonomous Mobile Robotics, Industry 4.0, Chemical Laboratory Technology, Water Technology, Additive Manufacturing, Industrial Design Technology, Optoelectronic Technology, Renewable Energy, and Robot Systems Integration.
Information and Communication Technology
ICT Network Infrastructure, Mobile Applications Development, Software Applications Development, Web Technologies, IT Network Systems Administration, Cloud Computing, Cyber Security, and Software Testing.
Construction and Building Technology
Wall and Floor Tiling, Plumbing and Heating, Electrical Installations, Bricklaying, Plastering and Drywall Systems, Painting and Decorating, Cabinetmaking, Joinery, Carpentry, Landscape Gardening, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Concrete Construction Work, Digital Construction, and Intelligent Security Technology.
Transportation and Logistics
Autobody Repair, Aircraft Maintenance, Automobile Technology, Car Painting, Heavy Vehicle Technology, Logistics and Freight Forwarding, Rail Vehicle Technology, and Unmanned Aerial Systems.
Creative Arts and Fashion
Jewellery, Floristry, Fashion Technology, Graphic Design Technology, Visual Merchandising, 3D Digital Game Art, and Digital Interactive Media Design.
Social and Personal Services
Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Pâtisserie and Confectionery, Cooking, Restaurant Service, Health and Social Care, Bakery, Hotel Reception, Dental Prosthetics, and Retail Sales.
