OVERVIEW
The SEAMEO Centres Policy Research Network (CPRN) summit aims to bring together researchers, scientists, experts, practitioners, managers and leaders from the 26 SEAMEO Units, relevant Ministries, universities and partners from Southeast Asia and beyond to discuss and share ideas on how to embrace technology and sustainability in education, science, and culture to prepare the region for a future-ready world. The proposed theme for the CPRN Summit 2025 is ‘Building Bridges to a Sustainable Future: Inclusive Collaboration and Innovation in Education, Science, and Culture’.
This theme underscores the vital role of inclusive collaboration and innovation in fostering a sustainable future. It highlights the need for strong partnerships among diverse communities and stakeholders to drive progress in education, science, and culture. As the world rapidly advances in technology, integrating these innovations into educational frameworks and scientific research is essential for creating a resilient, adaptable, and forward-thinking society. By bridging knowledge and expertise through cross-disciplinary cooperation, this theme promotes a holistic approach to sustainability. Through inclusive collaboration, we can harness collective wisdom and creativity to shape a future that is both innovative and sustainable, leaving a lasting impact for generations to come.
Furthermore, education, science, and culture are fundamental pillars that influence the overall growth and development of a society. By innovating within these fields, Southeast Asia can address pressing issues such as educational disparities, scientific underdevelopment, and cultural preservation. The summit will serve as a platform for collaboration, enabling stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions that not only meet current demands but also anticipate future challenges. Given CPRN’s focus on policy research, the presentations and discussions are grounded in robust research findings, with emphasis on those with significant policy implications. This ensures that the insights shared are not only evidence-based but also relevant to shaping and informing policy decisions. By drawing on empirical data, the discussions aim to provide policymakers and stakeholders with actionable recommendations that address current challenges and foster informed decision-making.
In the Education sector, the presentations and discussions will revolve around research findings on how to use technology to transform education. Technology is revolutionising the way we learn and teach. Embracing digital tools can enhance educational accessibility, inclusivity, and quality. Some topics to be covered may include: (1) Digital classrooms and e-learning platforms; (2) Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning; and (3) Bridging the digital divide in rural and underserved areas.
The Science sector discussions will explore sustainable practices in science and innovation. Topics to be covered in the science sector may include: (1) Green technologies and renewable energy solutions; (2) Sustainable research practices and innovations; and (3) Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare education and services.
In the Cultural sector, discussions will centre on how to preserve and promote diverse cultural traditions. Topics that can be covered in the culture sector may include: (1) Creating and sharing cultural narratives through multimedia; (2) Utilising technology to promote cultural tourism; and (3) Protecting intangible cultural heritage through digital platforms.
MAIN FEATURES OF THE SUMMIT 
The summit will provide a platform for keynote speeches, panel discussions, and poster presentations. The keynote speakers will set the tone for the summit by sharing their experiences and insights on promoting inclusivity in education, science, and culture. The panel discussions will provide an opportunity for academics, researchers, and practitioners from SEAMEO Units, relevant Ministry representatives, and partners to engage in dialogue and share their experiences on promoting inclusivity in their respective fields. The poster presentations will showcase research that promotes inclusivity in education, science, and culture.
The summit will serve as a platform for keynote addresses and panel discussions, and poster presentations. The keynote speakers will establish the summit's direction by offering expert experiences and insights on advancing inclusivity in education, science, and culture. The panel discussions will facilitate a dialogue among academics, researchers, practitioners from SEAMEO Units, relevant Ministry representatives, and partners, allowing them to share their experiences in promoting inclusivity within their respective domains. The poster presentations will highlight research that fosters inclusivity across education, science, and culture.
The CPRN Summit 2025 will offer participants valuable networking opportunities to connect with colleagues who share similar interests and foster mutual learning. Social events, including a welcome reception, coffee breaks, poster presentations, and a welcome dinner, will provide informal settings for participants to engage in discussions and establish professional networks.
1. KEYNOTE SPEECHES
To establish the thematic focus of the summit, prominent speakers with substantial expertise in the fields of education, science, and culture will be featured. These distinguished individuals, known for their innovative contributions to the integration of technology and sustainability, will share their insights and experiences on the theme of the summit. Their presentations will provide a foundational context for the summit, highlighting key advancements and strategies within each respective area.
2. PLENARY SESSIONS AND PARALLEL SESSIONS
During the plenary sessions, presentations and discussions will focus on the three key areas, drawing from completed research and highlighting policy implications. Presenters will include those who submitted completed research reports from SEAMEO Units and selected presenters from relevant Ministries, education institutions and partners. Policymaker representatives will be present to provide feedback on the findings presented. Each plenary session will last 80 minutes, allowing sufficient time for in-depth discussion.
Parallel sessions will be organised to share ongoing research and to present conceptual papers. These sessions will provide a platform for researchers to discuss their preliminary findings, share insights from developing studies, and explore theoretical frameworks. The aim is to facilitate constructive feedback and collaborative dialogue, enabling researchers to refine their work and advance their projects. This format will also support the exchange of innovative ideas and foster interdisciplinary collaboration, contributing to the broader objectives of the summit.
3. POSTER PRESENTATIONS
To encourage research on inclusivity in education, science, and culture, the summit will also include a poster presentation session. Researchers and practitioners will be invited to submit posters showcasing their work on promoting inclusivity in these areas.
4. EXHIBITIONS
Organisations, institutions, and industry leaders are invited to exhibit their cutting-edge solutions, technologies, and initiatives that contribute to advancing sustainability and digital transformation in these fields. This is a unique opportunity to connect with key stakeholders, share insights, and demonstrate impactful innovations to a diverse audience.
5. COMMON POLICY RESEARCH OF SEAMEO CENTRES (DISCUSSIONS ON WAY FORWARDS)
This session will enable participants to discuss the future direction of the research to be conducted by SEAMEO centres. The purpose of the discussion is to facilitate the interchange of ideas on issues related to each field and to generate a proposed policy research title. The discussion will focus on the obstacles, recommendations, and next steps. The participants will be divided into each field: education, science and culture.

The summit will take place in Brunei Darussalam at The Empire Brunei, Brunei Darussalam.

The summit will be scheduled for two (2) days on 3 - 4 July 2025.
SUMMIT FEES
**EARLY BIRD RATES ARE AVAILABLE UNTIL 5 MAY 2025
- Each SEAMEO Unit will receive 2 quotas to be exempted from summit fee.
- Invited Ministry representatives will be granted 1 quota each to be excluded from the summit fee.
- Other representatives are welcome to participate at a fee of USD 75.00 per person.
- For members of the public from education institutions and partners, we welcome your participation at a fee stated in the table below.
- Kindly note that the summit fees are inclusive of local transportation (only provided to delegates staying at selected hotels), refreshments and tours. Other expenses including airfare, accommodation, and per diem will be borne by the respective organisation.

For early bird rates to apply, payments must be made by 5 May 2025, while normal summit fees can be paid by 26 May 2025, at the latest, during the summit. However, it is strongly recommend for participants to settle any payment prior to your arrival in Brunei to avoid any complications and to ensure your participation in the summit is confirmed upon arrival.
