BILT Learning Lab
MilleaLab – The All-In-One Virtual Reality Platform for Educators and Learners
About the Event
BILT Learning Labs are an opportunity for TVET stakeholders to explore specific 'Innovation and Learning Practices' from Africa, Asia-Pacific, and Europe.
This Learning Lab will take place on 10 May 2022, 09:30 – 11:00 CEST, and will focus on the MilleaLab virtual reality platform that is designed and operated by Shinta VR in Indonesia.
MILLEALAB –THE ALL-IN-ONE VIRTUAL REALITY PLATFORM FOR EDUCATORS AND LEARNERS
Educators play a crucial role as drivers towards modern digital education. Keeping up with new qualifications and competencies for both educators and students is challenging in and of itself, let alone digitizing curriculum that is engaging for students.
Against this background and the belief that immersive technology has greater benefits if it can be fully applied within society, MilleaLab was established in 2019. The cloud-based platform provides users with hundreds of templates and 3D models to create customized virtual learning content without requiring coding skills. MilleaLab goes one step further through its training programmes for educators, such as the 100 VR Pioneer Schools Programme, 1000 VR Pioneer Teachers Programme, and VR Ambassador Programme, whereby VR competence training is provided to educators.
MilleaLab aims to connect the entire Indonesian educational system through the use of VR technology, as well as strengthen the bonds between schools, educators and learners. The platform currently boasts more than 16,000 active users in Indonesia and has enabled access to virtual learning content for 1,500 schools. In cooperation with the Indonesian government, teacher associations and various other partners, MilleaLab has trained and certified 5,200 teachers and supports educators in becoming ambassadors for VR-based learning, helping them to drive learning innovation through the development and implementation of VR learning media.
Times are indicated in CEST. Bahasa Melayu -English interpretation will be available.
