SEA-VET.net launches I4.0 & Digitalisation Page

Article
In 2017, SEAMEO VOCTECH and GIZ RECOTVET* set out on a mission to counter the fragmentation in the TVET sector in Southeast Asia. While many meetings on TVET were taking place throughout the region there was a lack of an online platform for maintaining the exchange in-between meetings, documenting outcomes and making them available to all TVET stakeholders. As a result, knowledge sharing was ineffective and there was simply no centralized home for TVET knowledge in the region.
As a response, SEAMEO VOCTECH launched, in partnership with GIZ RECOTVET, Southeast Asia’s first regional knowledge platform on TVET (www.SEA-VET.net) at the 4th High Officials Meeting in Manila in September 2018. SEA-VET.net has since then become the home for TVET news, events, publications and communities of practice in Southeast Asia. In addition, in collaboration with TVET institutions new knowledge was created such as detailed profiles of each country’s TVET system and peer-reviewed good practices.
Over the course of last year, SEAMEO VOCTECH and RECOTVET have recognized the increasing demand for information on Industry 4.0 and Digitalisation. TVET stakeholders are looking for answers on how to best approach the digitalisation challenge. As a result, the two organization have decided to launch a specialized section on SEA-VET.net that is exclusively dedicated to Industry 4.0 and Digitalisation in TVET. The section is aimed at TVET policy-makers and practitioners and will provide a comprehensive overview on the topic on single website. Users will stay uptodate about the latest news, events, publications and announcements of training modules on Industry 4.0 & Digitalisation. This will provide TVET stakeholders with the knowledge to successfully navigate the challenges of future. The new Industry 4.0 section will be officially launched at the 5th High Officials Meeting on 9. September in Brunei.
