Background
In Vietnam, an indicator-based VET reporting system was developed as a regular activity and implemented by the National Institute for Vocational Education and Training (NIVET), in trilateral cooperation with the German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and the Deutsche Ge-sellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The standardized VET reporting process, culminating with a bilingual publication to regularly report the results of monitoring the VET reports, provided policy makers with a solution to track TVET development and policy making.
The series of key findings from Vietnam’s VET Reports have been useful for national and international stakeholders and organizations.
As a suggestion, a common database in the VET sector for the region may be set up if more countries adopt this indicator-based VET reporting system.
